Upon entering Thimble Cottage, you’ll be welcomed into the open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas. Featuring low beamed ceilings, a large Georgian window and a rustic brick statement fireplace, this cosy space has a traditional cottage feel.
The kitchen is fully equipped so you can make the most of your self-catering stay. Unwind with your loved ones on the grey sofas or enjoy meals together in the dining area.
A winding staircase takes you up to the first floor where you’ll find the master bedroom and family bathroom. The double bedroom has an exposed sandstone feature wall with two double sash windows letting in plenty of light and fresh sea air. Pops of ochre are added in the soft furnishings to create a cohesive look and a truly relaxing feel.
The family bathroom features tasteful white metro tiles and exposed beams. The space has a WC, basin and a modern shower enclosure including an invigorating power shower.
Take the winding staircase up to the second floor and you’ll discover the expansive twin bedroom. Nautically themed, there are hues of blue with the quirky-shaped chimney breast strikingly painted in Cook’s Blue. Take a seat at the elevated front window, the perfect vantage point to observe the mast tips of the Endeavour sailing vessel moored in the harbour.
Thimble Cottage is in the centre of Whitby, and you’ll find restaurants, shops, and pubs less than a 2-minute walk away. The cottage is located along a small ginnel, which was previously known as Smugglers Yard on the West side of Whitby.
